Space Management

Space is a vital business resource—it is critical for a facility management organisation to be able to understand the cost, amount, quality, environmental effectiveness and utilisation of all of the space in their real estate portfolio. Trimble's CenterStone technology is perfect for organisations of all sizes—from those looking to manage a single building, to Fortune 10 companies with over 100,000,000 square feet of space that require an enterprise-wide facility management solution.

Moves/Adds/Changes (MAC)

In today's constantly changing workplaces, high churn rates make the resulting moves, adds and changes (M/A/C) increasingly expensive, involving a coordinated effort from an interdepartmental team of facility planners, IT, telecomm, the help desk, a move management company and customer service staff. Shifting large groups of workers following a company-wide downsizing, reorganisation, merger or acquisition can be complicated and expensive.

This is a shot of one of the Dutch students who won the “poster competition” at EFMC 2015 in Glasgow in June.  He did a brilliant study using virtual reality to study travelers’ perception in a train station based on various manipulations in lighting.  All the finalists for this competition had excellent projects and I recommend anyone attending IFMA World Workplace Denver this year to see this same event for a glimpse into how our future facility managers are thinking about the profession.
